Our Staff Support

Our staff, supporting our community

Our company ambition is to be an ethical and socially responsible company with a mission of enabling individuals to realise their potential in health, life and work through the delivery of innovative quality medicines.

Making a difference

Our staff support this ambition by actively engaging in our 'YOU can make a difference' initiative. We value the fact that staff are independently involved in a range of charity or not-for-profit organisations operating in our community.

Boehringer Ingelheim supports these efforts by encouraging and enabling individuals to garner support from their colleagues through the coordination of internal fundraising or volunteering activities.

Each of these activities are run independently by staff, for staff.

Some examples of staff support in 2010

North Ryde Community Aid

Offering unique support, throughout the year a growing group of Boehringer Ingelheim staff meet over lunch once a week to knit squares. These wool squares are made into blankets which are donated to North Ryde Community Aid.

For the North Ryde Community Aid Christmas Hamper Appeal, our staff and their families donate food and presents and volunteer time to coordinate and deliver Christmas hampers across the community.

In support of these activities, Boehringer Ingelheim donates the wool for the blankets and makes a financial donation to the Christmas Appeal to support the programs run by North Ryde Community Aid.

Cancer Council

Cancer Council

Boehringer Ingelheim staff enthusiastically host events for the Cancer Council's Australia's Biggest Morning Tea. Our staff also hosted and participated in fundraising activities for the Cancer Council's Breast Cancer initiatives. Funds raised by these staff initiatives were matched by Boehringer Ingelheim.

Cure Cancer Australia

Cure Cancer Australia

Over 2010, a member of our staff held a broad range of fundraising initiatives in her local community and in the company to raise money to support Cure Cancer Australia. Her aim was to climb the world's highest freestanding mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro, and in the process raise over $10 000.

Supported by her community, her colleagues and the business, our staff member was successful in early 2011 in raising over $20 000 for Cure Cancer Australia as well as successfully summiting Mt Kilimanjaro.

Encompassing the spirit of our 'YOU make a difference' initiative, Boehringer Ingelheim colleagues from around the world followed her progress and helped make her initiative a raging success!
